Guest Speakers

The event will feature a host of guest speakers right from Brookes University students, staff and industry experts. Here is a little sneak-peak about them.

Molly Gardner

Brookes Uni Student

unnamed (1).jpg

My name is Molly, and I’m a 3rd year history student at Brookes. I’ve grown up in a family passionate about traveling and have been lucky enough to travel widely in the last few years, from backpacking South-East Asia, over-landing in Southern Africa and cycling around Morocco.

Currently I’m preparing for a ski season in Canada after uni. From motorbiking around northern Vietnam to skydiving over the desert in Namibia, I’ve been lucky enough to have some extraordinary experiences. I’m very excited for the convention and being able to chat to other travel lovers and share my experiences.

Paddy Tyson

Founder, Overland Magazine

Paddy is the editor of Overland Magazine and founder of the Overland Events. Born amid the incessant rain of County Fermanagh in north west Ireland, he has been travelling in search of sunshine ever since, which is odd given his pale complexion.

He first combined motorcycles with travel while studying Environmental Science at university in England, setting off on a woefully unprepared 125cc Honda in 1993 to try and see as much of Europe as he could in 4 weeks. The whole thing sowed the seeds of a plan for a two-wheeled global assault, which has been undertaken in sections ever since.

Sabrina Yu

Brookes Uni Student

unnamed (5).jpg

Sabrina is a final year student at Brookes Uni currently pursuing International Hospitality Management. In her words, “As a full time student who is balancing uni life with social media startups on YouTube and foodie Instagram, I understand the struggles of managing both at the same time, I aim to make this event insightful for passionate travellers who are interested to know how to start up a social media page which could document their journey with food and travelling on the side of their studies, looking forward to seeing a good turnout at the event!”

Outdoor Society

Brookes Uni Society

The Brookes Outdoor Society is a group dedicated to those who enjoy outdoor sports, hobbies, and recreational activities. From hiking in the great outdoors to indoor skiing and ice skating there is always an activity available for all.
